HOW CAN HYPNOTHERAPY HELP ME?
Hypnotherapy can help with almost any behavior you wish to change. It’s well known, of course, in the areas of smoking cessation, weight loss, and stress reduction but can help with many other issues. Many clients come seeking to understand why they have such difficulty changing physical or emotional behaviors they know are unhealthy for them and which create negative consequences in their lives, whether it’s being disorganized, constant lateness, fear of public speaking, social anxiety or losing their temper inappropriately. The list is literally endless. Sometimes the answers to these frustrations are in understanding that our underlying negative beliefs about ourselves are running the show and creating our behaviors, not unlike a computer that is wrongly programmed. Hypnosis can help you identify those false beliefs and their origins, release them and replace them with new positive ones. Change is so much easier when it comes from within.
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE HYPNOTIZED?
Your body becomes very relaxed and your conscious mind becomes very calm, allowing you to more easily access your unconscious mind, the deep part of ourselves that has wisdom and healing abilities just waiting for us to acknowledge them. Some people experience very deep states and some only go into light trance states, but even light states can be enough to help create significant change quickly.
AM I ASLEEP?
No, hypnosis is more like that state between sleeping and waking you experience in the morning just before getting up. You are always aware, and though the conscious mind is asked to step aside for a short while, it is always there ready to come back if you feel it is necessary. However many clients do feel as refreshed after a session as if they had a long nap.
AM I STILL IN CONTROL?
Yes, you allow yourself to be guided into hypnosis, and you can bring yourself out of it at any time Some people have concerns they will reveal information they want to keep private, but you have the ability to decide what you want to share, even when in hypnosis, and can’t be made to do anything you wouldn’t normally do. All session and client information is always completely confidential.
CAN HYPNOTHERAPY HELP ME WITH PAIN MANAGEMENT AND OTHER PHYSICAL CONDITIONS?
Yes, it can, in cooperation with your physician. Under Florida law if you are being treated for a specific medical condition by a physician you must ask your doctor to provide a referral for hypnotherapy, which is generally easy to obtain. Other issues such as stress, weight loss, smoking cessation, etc. do not require this.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WORK?
Of course this depends on the individual and the nature of the issue, but generally within two or three sessions, clients begin to notice changes. Some have significant change after only one or two sessions.
WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE PAY FOR HYPNOTHERAPY?
Usually not, though it is always good to check. You should expect to pay for the sessions personally, and can use cash, check or major credit card.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Sessions are $130 per hour. Packages of four or more sessions are discounted 10% when paid in advance. This pre-paid amount is non-refundable and sessions must be used within 6 months of purchase date. Please note that all cancellations must be made 24 hours before your appointment or you will be charged for the session.
